Chrysler Newport

The Newport was first introduced in the 1940s as an elegant binary-hood Phaeton. It remained on request until 1981, with an 11-year hiatus starting in 1950. The fourth-generation Newport debuted in 1965 and became Chrysler’s heaviest model ever. Plus, it’s over 18 bases long!

After the 1973 energy explosion, Newport’s colossal size and large V8 machine under the hood did not help its deals. Deals began to decline, and the model was ultimately discontinued in the early 1980s.
